Cancellation policy
Cancellation will be charged as follow:
- More than 7 days prior to trip departure. No charge.
- Within 7 days before arrival: 10% charge
- Within 5 days before arrival: 40% charge
- Within 3 days before arrival: 60% charge
- Within 48 hours before arrival: 100% charge
Final payment is due 2 days in advance of the tour.
These payments are due in our office or submitted online 3 days prior to the departure date. If reservations are made less than 2 days prior to departure, payment in full is required at the time of booking. If final payments are not received on time, Mekong Tours may cancel the reservation and invoke the cancellation fee.
Except if otherwise agreed by Mekong Tours, Client's payment shall be executed by cash, credit card or traveller's cheques. Except for cash payment, a service charge may apply (3% of the card holder). In cases where credit facilities have been agreed with the Client/Agent, payment shall be executed by swift or telegraphic transfer to the appropriate Mekong Tours bank account. Any bank charges levied by the sending bank relating to transfers to must be paid by the Mekong Tour Client/Agent.
Payment will be settled through our bank account at least 2 days before arrival.
Refund of Unused services
No refunds or exchange can be made in respect of accommodation, meals, sightseeing tours, transports or any other services which are included in the tour prices but not utilized by the tour member.
Voucher
Voucher will be issued by Mekong Tours after the booked trip is confirmed and payment is completed. A service voucher will be sent by email/fax or snail mail to passenger.
Liability and Insurance
Mekong Tours is not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by passengers incurred due to delay, accidents, natural disaster, political actions and unrest must be borne by passengers. Passengers are required to have full travel insurance. Should this occur, we will endeavour to substitute suitable arrangement of similar value. Participation on any tour implies full agreement to above conditions by all parties involved.
Confirmation
All confirmations are generally confirmed by return fax or e-mail within 2 working days. In case immediate confirmation is not possible, we will inform you of the booking status at the time of reservation.
Chau Doc - Can Tho - Vinh Long - My Tho - Ben Tre - Saigon
This tour visits: Cham minority village - Fish farm - Floating markets.
Day 1: Chau Doc - Can Tho
6:50AM: After the pick-up from your hotel or guesthouse, we transfer to the boat dock. First we take a ride cruising to a fish farm, where you will hear about the ways of life and work of the floating-house people.
The Cham minority village is the next one visited, where a towel weaving workshop is visited, with the weaving of the colorful traditional wears (sarong and towels) on display. We have a chance to learn more about the Mekong delta people living in stilted houses, especially the Cham ethnic minority people.
Then we head back to Chau Doc, for the bus to Can Tho. On the way, we stop over at an incense stick home-workshop, and then continue on to Can Tho.
We then transfer to Phong Dien village by boat. Have lunch (included) with the Mekong Delta people. Visit the rice fields and go swimming in the river. You will have a home-stay with the local people, and have a dinner (included) of traditional Vietnamese dishes.
Day 2: Can Tho - My Tho
At 7:30AM: After breakfast we take a small boat to explore the 2 biggest floating markets in the Mekong Delta; Cai Rang and Phong Dien. We cruise the small canals through villages interconnected by Monkey bridges, and visit vermicelli making and rice mills. The boat takes us back to Can Tho for lunch.
After lunch, we join the tour bus to My Tho. Check in on arrival.
Day 3: My Tho - Ben Tre - Saigon
Connection tour
At 8:00Am: The morning trip starts with a motorized boat to cruise on the Bao Dinh canal. Visitors then have a good opportunity to join in the daily activities of the local people and enjoy the atmosphere.
Then we cruise on the Tien River to Tortoise Island. On the way, we can view stilted houses, boat building workshops and some of other islands, such as Dragon, Phoenix and Unicorn Islands. Lunch will be served in the heart of the orchard, to the sound of Southern Vietnamese folk music, performed by the islanders.
After visiting the coconut candy mill, the amazing boat trip on the Thoi Son canal is something unforgettable. Then we go on to Ben Tre province - the country of coconut - to learn more about the daily life of the local people.
The boat trip cruises through the natural Tan Thach canal, which is fully covered with water coconuts, which makes a memorable impression. The bus heads to the Saigon tourist area, District 1, at 6:00 pm.
