Day 1: Chau Doc - Can Tho
After pick up from your hotel, we transfer to the boat dock. First we take a ride cruising to a fish farm; you will hear about the ways of life of the floating house people. A Cham minority village is the next stop, where a towel weaving workshop is located, producing the colourful traditional wares (sarong and towels). We have a chance to learn more about the Mekong Delta people living in the stilted houses, especially the Cham ethnic minority people.
From here it is back to Chau Doc for a bus to Can Tho. On the way, we will stop at an incense stick home workshop, and then go on to Can Tho. Check in on arrival at the hotel, then you will have a free evening to explore Can Tho.
Day 2: Can Tho - My Tho
After breakfast we take a small boat to discover the 2 biggest floating markets in the Mekong Delta - Cai Rang and Phong Dien. Cruise the small canals through villages interconnected by monkey bridges. Visit vermicelli making places and rice mills. The boat takes us back to Can Tho for lunch and trip through the city. After lunch, we join the tour bus to Vinh Long to visit the local market, and then go on to My Tho for a short stop at the Bonsai gardens. After this, we check in the hotel, and you will have a free evening.
Day 3: My Tho - Ho Chi Minh City
The morning trip starts with a motorised boat cruise on the Bao Dinh Canal. Visitors then have a good opportunity to join in the daily activities of the local people and enjoy the atmosphere. Then we cruise on the Tien River to the Tortoise Island. On the way, we can view stilted houses, boat building workshops and some of the other islands - resembling a Dragon, Phoenix and Unicorn.
Lunch will be served in the heart of the orchard to the sound of southern Vietnamese folk music, performed by the islanders. After visiting the coconut candy mill, the amazing boat trip will continue along the Thoi Son canal.
Then it is on to Ben Tre province - the country of coconuts - to learn more about the daily life of the local people. The boat trip will cruise through the natural Tan Thach canal, which is fully covered with water coconuts, and will make an unforgettable impression of the trip. From here, you will head to Ho Chi Minh City.
